The Rules: All the Fine Print
By submitting a film, you represent that you have the legal authority to enter the work into Down East Flick Fest and agree to abide by the festival's rules and submission requirements.
Filmmakers retain all ownership and copyright of their work. By entering the festival, you grant DEFF permission to use approved excerpts, still images, trailers, titles, and other promotional materials to publicize the festival and your participation.
The entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Down East Flick Fest from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from copyright, trademark, publicity, screening rights, or other legal disputes related to the submitted work.
The applicant affirms that they are the writer, director, producer, or otherwise authorized representative of the film and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement.
Submission Guidelines
Films must be original works of the applicant(s).
Films should be submitted through FilmFreeway using an approved online screener.
If your screener is password protected, please include the password with your submission.
Films not in English must include English subtitles.
Each film requires a separate submission and entry fee.
Submission limits, deadlines, and eligibility requirements are listed on our FilmFreeway page.
Judges' decisions are final.
Late submissions cannot be accepted.
